Cowgirl Tennis Loses to SMU 6-1

The University of Wyoming women'stennis team fell to SMU 6-1 Thursday in Dallas, Tex. The Cowgirls wonone singles match in the dual.

Junior Sofi Espinosa defeated Chrissie Terrill of SMU 7-5, 7-6 in theNo. 3 singles match for Wyoming's only team point. With the loss to the#50 Mustangs, Wyoming's season record is now at 4-7.

"The team is playing well and we're happy with how they're doing, butwe just aren't getting the results we want," said Wyoming head coach PamWildt. "The girls are doing the best they can but its been tough withthe weather and the talented teams we've been playing."

The Cowgirls had four matches scheduled for this week in Texas, butonly two of them were played due to heavy rain in the area. Matchesagainst Sam Houston State and North Texas were cancelled.
