The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team wrapped up the week with a 7-0 victory over the Wagner College Seahawks, on Wednesday afternoon, in Daytona Beach. With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 9-4 overall in dual play, while the Seahawks drop to 0-1 in dual play.
Wyoming dominated the match against Wagner as they swept every singles and doubles match. The No. 1 team of Karolina Rowinski and Amy Senko earned an 8-1 win over the team of Jenny Ludvigsen and Gina Gelardo, while at the No. 2 spot the team of Jennifer Hancock and Yuliani Santi defeated Jessica Klett and Stephanie LaRock, 8-0. UW closed out the doubles point with Patricia Chien and Andrea House defeating the team of Megan Owen and Kaitlyn Schobert, 8-0.
Singles play was also dominated by Wyoming led by senior Jennifer Hancock in the No. 1 spot with her two set victory, 6-0, 6-0, over Jenny Ludvigsen. Karolina Rowinski also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, against Gina Gelardo while Amy Senko was victorious in her match against Jessica Klett, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 3 slot. Andrea House earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Stephanie LaRock as did Megan Williams against Kaitlyn Schobert 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 5 position. The Cowgirls closed out singles play with sophomore Gwen Moser defeating Megan Owen, 6-0, 6-0.
The Cowgirls now open up Mountain West Conference play on Saturday, March 27 against the Colorado State Rams in Ft. Collins.
