Cowgirl Tennis Falls 6-1 to San Diego State

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -

The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team (5-9 overall, 0-2) closed out the weekend with a 6-1 loss against the San Diego State Aztecs, on Saturday morning, in Las Vegas, Nev.

In doubles play, San Diego State jumped out early as they won two of three matches to take the team doubles point. The number three UW team of Jamie Nelson and Sarah Summerfield came away with an 8-4 victory against Esther Cadua and Ozge Atalay. Cowgirls Andrea House and Karolina Rowinski fell 9-7 against Alesya Vidov and Eliska Krausova, while Wyoming's Corina Lazar and Michelle Brown lost to Holly Bagshaw and Nielsen, 8-2.

In singles play Wyoming won only one match at the number six spot. Nelson defeated Kitts, 6-4, 6-4. Rowinski fell, 6-0, 6-2, against Krausova, 6-0, 6-2, as did Summerfield, 6-4, 6-0, against Vidov. At the number three singles, Lazar lost to Bagshaw, 6-3, 6-1, while Cadua defeated House, 6-3, 6-1 at the number four spot. At the number five position, Brown lost against Milana Usupov, 6-3, 6-1.
