San Diego State Shuts Down Cowgirls

Las Vegas, Nev. - The University of Wyoming women's tennisteam suffered its second Mountain West Conference loss in as many days bythe rackets of the Lady Aztecs of San Diego State Saturday in Las Vegas,Nev. The Cowgirls were defeated in all six singles matches and dropped threedoubles matches as well. The Cowgirls are now 7-8 overall and 0-2 in theMWC.

In singles action Silvia Tornier defeated top Cowgirl Patricia Chien 6-3,6-0. In No. 2 play SDSU's Lindsey Hedberg defeated Wyoming's Ani Santi 6-1,7-5. Katie Gyulai was defeated by Katalina Romero of the Lady Aztecs 6-0,6-1 in the No. 3 match. Cowgirl Jennifer Hanncock lost a close match toKatja Karrento 7-6, 6-4. In the No. 5 match Patricia Graf of San Diego Stateedged Megan Williams 7-5, 7-6 and SDSU's Indra Erichsen blanked Gwen Moser6-0, 6-0.

The Cowgirls will next compete next weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo. asthey take on New Mexico April 5th and Air Force April 6th.
