Cowgirl Tennis Falls to Utes

The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team (10-9 overall, 1-4 in the MWC) closed out the weekend with a 4-1 loss against the Utah Utes on Sunday morning in Laramie.

The Utes took four of six matches in a close fought match. They would win matches at one, two, three and five. At the number four position, Sarah Summerfield was the only Cowgirl to come away with a three set win, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, against Karine Bourdages. UW senior Corina Lazar was defeated by Elizabeth Ferris, 6-2, 6-3, while Wyoming freshman Rebecca Berger lost 6-2, 6-2 to Emily Kwok. Cowgirl Carly Van Hollen fell to Erin Monson, 6-2, 6-1, while UW senior Michelle Brown battled to a two set loss, 6-1, 7-5, against Leigh Walsh.

Doubles were scheduled, but not played.

Wyoming will be back out on the road for two matches this week. They will take on the UNLV Rebels, on Friday, April 11, and the San Diego State Aztecs, on Saturday, April 12. Both matches are set to begin at 11:00 a.m. Mountain Time in San Diego.
