Wyoming Tennis Team Loses To Air Force In Final Match At MWC Championships

The University of Wyoming women's tennis team lost to Air Force 4-0 Saturday in the seventh-place match at the Mountain West Conference Tennis Championships. The tournament was held in Ft. Collins, Colo., and was hosted by Colorado State University.

After earning the team doubles point by winning two doubles matches, the Falcons won three singles matches to clinch the win. Air Force won two doubles matches by a score of 8-3, gaining a 1-0 lead in the match.

In singles action Air Force won matches at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots for the victory. Wyoming's Jen Hancock and Yuliani Santi both led their matches before they were stopped because the Falcons had clinched the match. In the No. 1 singles match Brooke Parsons of Air Force defeated UW's Jenny Bowman 6-2 in the first set but Bowman had bounced back to lead 5-3 in the second set before the match was stopped.

With the loss the Cowgirls finish the season 4-17 overall. Wyoming placed eighth in the Mountain West Conference.
