The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team wrapped up the final day of play, on Sunday, at the Wyoming Cowgirl Invitational in Laramie.

"This was a great opportunity for us to continue our progress in real match situations," said head coach Krissy Hall. "Hopefully we can build on things for each match and carry it on in to next weekend. Overall, I was pleased with the tournament and our play."

Freshman Rebecca Berger earned a straight set win, 6-3, 6-3, over Greer Satherlie (Colorado State) to place fifth in flight two singles. In flight three, Carolina Chaix also finished fifth with a nice 7-6 (2), 6-3, win against Jodi Ciarvella of Northern Colorado. Senior Michelle Brown fell 6-2, 6-3 against Ali Griffin of Montana State in the championship match in that same flight.

In doubles play, the only team in action was Michelle Brown and Corina Lazar who came up short 8-3 against Ashley Schapper and Kaya Adamson of Weber State.

The Cowgirls will be back in action next Friday-Sunday, Sept. 21-23, at the Cougar Classic in Pullman, Wash.
