Cowgirl Tennis Completes Second Day of Competition at the USAFA Invitational

The Wyoming Cowgirl TennisTeam continued play at the at the USAFA Invitational on Saturday inColorado Springs, Colo.

The Cowgirls fared better with some solid play in the singles matchestoday. In Flight One singles back draw play, senior Kati Guylai defeatedKami Miller of the Air Force Academy, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6, after fallingearlier in the day to Tanja Sukovic of Northern Iowa, 2-6, 6-4, 4-6. InFlight Two consolation action, freshman Patricia Chien won both of hermatches by defeating Karrie Tyioran of Northern Iowa, 6-4, 6-1 andMiclynn Crail of Air Force in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Junior YulianiSanti also won both of her matches against Mel Humphrey of WashingtonState by the scores of 6-4, 6-1 and Stephanie Ginsburg of Denver bydefault.

In the Flight One double semifinals, the team of Kati Gyulai andPatricia Chien fell short against the team of Arias and Martinez ofWashington State, 8-1, as did Jen Hancock and Yuliani Santi, 8-3, toBryntesson and Griffin of Oklahoma. .

The Cowgirls will wrap up the USAFA Invitational on Sunday in ColoradoSprings.
