The Wyoming tennis team continued play on Thursday at the ITA Central Region Championship competition in Tulsa.
In doubles play, the team of Patricia Chien and Karolina Rowinski earned a hard fought 9-8 victory over Emily Kirchem and Dasha Zhurin of Colorado State. They will now take on the team of Tako Kvaratskhelia and Maria Rosenberg of Kansas State in the next round, Friday afternoon. The other Cowgirls team of Corina Lazar and Kim Romero came up short in their bid to move on in the bracket with an 8-3 loss to Anna Exeni and Wendi Webster of Wichita State.
In the main draw of singles play, junior Patricia Chien lost her first match of the day in two sets, 7-6, 6-1, to Lucy Scott of New Mexico.
The Central Regional Tournament will conclude on Sunday.
