The University of Wyoming women'stennis program will kick off its spring season this Saturday when theCowgirls dual against the University of Denver in Cheyenne. The matchwill take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Frontier Tennis Club.
The Cowgirls, 1-0 during the fall season, will be looking to avengelast year's close 5-4 loss to the Pioneers in Laramie. The match willmark the first of Wyoming's 16 duals this spring. The Cowgirls willalso host Bowling Green in Cheyenne on Feb. 22 and will host MontanaState in Laramie on March 4.
Wyoming will enter the spring season ranked #15 in the Central Region.The Cowgirls are tied with Missouri and Colorado State at the #15 spot.There are 34 teams in the Central Region.
This season the Cowgirls will feature five freshman, one senior, onejunior and one sophomore. "The girls are really going to have to battlefor spots," said Pam Wildt, University of Wyoming head tennis coach."Without a doubt this is the deepest team I've ever coached and it'sgoing to be tough to not play anyone."
