This Week: The University of Wyoming women's tennis team will be offuntil March 11 when it embarks on a four-match roadtrip. The Cowgirlswill face Sam Houston State, TCU, North Texas and SMU.
Cowgirls Defeat Montana State 5-2: Wyoming won two close matches in themiddle of the lineup to secure a 5-2 tennis victory over Montana StateSunday in Laramie. Senior Angela Dossetor and freshman Toni Terhaarboth won three-set tiebreaker matches to give Wyoming a 3-2 lead afterthe Cowgirls had fallen behind 2-1. Dossetor defeated Colleen Cohee5-7, 6-3 (11-9) in the No. 3 singles match. Terhaar beat Susan Risteen6-3, 4-6 (10-6) in the No. 4 singles match. The Cowgirls fell behind1-0 after Montana State won the doubles team point by winning two of thethree doubles matches. The UW team of Sofi Espinosa and Yuliani Santiwon their doubles match 8-4 over Liz Lowrance and Cohee. Wyoming'sother doubles teams of Jenny Bowman/Dossetor and Paulina delMonte/Terhaar were both defeated. In the No. 1 singles match Cowgirlfreshman Bowman defeated Ali Jensen 7-5, 6-2. The win marked the firstof the day for Wyoming and gave the Cowgirls some momentum heading intosingles action. After the critical singles victories by Dossetor andTerhaar, Wyoming closed out the match with wins by a pair of freshman inSanti and Jennifer Hancock. Santi defeated Rachel Drummond 7-5, 6-3 andHancock beat Lowrance 6-1, 7-6 in a hard-fought match.

Cowgirls Ranked #15 in Central Region: Wyoming began the spring seasonranked #15 in the Central Region according to the latest ITA rankings.The Cowgirls are tied with Missouri and Colorado State at the #15 spot.There are a total of 32 teams in the Central Region.
