The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team will host their only regular season match of the spring when they welcome the Northern Colorado Bears, on Tuesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. The match will be played at the UW Tennis Courts and admission is free.
"We are very excited about playing at home for the first and only time this spring," said UW head coach Krissy Hall. "It will be a great opportunity to showcase our abilities in front of the great Wyoming fans."
The Cowgirls enter this week's competition with an overall record of 7-10 and 0-4 in the MWC. Wyoming is currently led by junior Andrea House who has a singles record of 14-9 overall. Junior Karolina Rowinski sits at a 14-12 mark in singles play and Michelle Brown is 10-12 overall.
The Bears are currently 5-8 overall. They return five letterwinners and welcome one newcomer to a team that finished 8-11 overall a year ago. This will be the tenth meeting between the two schools. Wyoming holds an 8-1 lead in the series. The last time the two teams met was April 17, 2005 when the Cowgirls defeated the Bears, 7-0. Northern Colorado is coached by Brenda Vlasak who is in her second season as the head coach and her fourth year with the program.
