May 18, 2004

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head tennis coach Pam Wildt today announced the signing of one student-athlete to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2004.

Here is the signee.

Michelle Brown, Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada (John Rennie High School):
An Atlantic Canada Regional Junior Champion in Girls 16 and Under while attending John Rennie High School in Montreal. During that time, she was also a two-time New Brunswick Provincial Junior Champion and the Women's Champion last year. Over the past two years, she has been ranked first in the New Brunswick Province, second in the Atlantic Canada Regional and among the Top 50 junior players nationally. Brown has qualified and participated in four national championships and is currently training at the AMG Academy in Montreal. Besides tennis, she also participated in basketball and volleyball. She chose Wyoming over several schools. Michelle is the daughter of Dana and Rita Brown.

"Michelle has great power and athleticism in her game," said head coach Pam Wildt. I look forward to her stepping into the line-up and immediately contributing to the success we've had in Wyoming Tennis.

Brown is the second student-athlete to sign with the Cowgirls this season. The other signee is Kimberly Romero of Thornton, Colo.
