LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The Wyoming Tennis program and three individuals finished the year in the Mountain Region and Oracle/ITA Division I National Team and Individual Rankings announced on Wednesday. It's the first time since 2012 that the Cowgirls have been ranked to close out the season.

The top five included Vanderbilt, South Carolina, UCLA, North Carolina and Georgia. In the Mountain Regional rankings, Wyoming was fifth following Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Denver.
Seniors Alma Espinosa and Christa Gecheva were eighth amongst the other doubles teams in the region. The duo finished the year 11-5 overall and 3-1 in MW action on the way to garnering All-Conference honors for the first time in their careers. After a solid redshirt freshman campaign, Magdalena Stencel placed ninth regionally in singles action. She went 18-14 overall on her way to earning All-Mountain West Conference honors.
Wyoming finished the season 15-6 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league play. The Cowgirls went 2-1 at the 2015 MW Tennis Championships defeating the top-seeded Fresno State Bulldogs, 4-3, before falling in the championship match against New Mexico, 4-2.
