MWC Announces Tennis Academic Honorees

The Mountain West Conference announced the 2001Academic All-Conference team for men's and women's tennis today. To be eligiblefor selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed atleast one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative gradepoint average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor tothe team.

A total of 58 student-athletes earned MWC academic honors for tennis in 2000-01,including 39 women and 19 men. San Diego State led the way with 12 selections,while New Mexico and Utah had nine each. UNLV placed eight academic honorees onthis year's list, followed by BYU with six, Colorado State and Wyoming each withfive and Air Force with four. Twenty-nine of the 58 Academic All-MWC memberswere repeat selections from a year ago.
