LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming Athletics Department announced that the UW Indoor Tennis Facility will officially open Monday, October 10. This new state-of-the art facility is one of the premier indoor tennis facilities in the Rocky Mountain Region and will be a great asset to UW and the community.
The new Indoor Tennis Facility has expanded the current indoor courts from two courts to six. Other facilities provided in the expansion, include public lockerrooms with showers, family restroom, Tennis Team lockerroom, Tennis Team Room, storage, viewing area over four new courts and viewing area over two older courts.
The UW Board of Trustees approved the construction phase of the project on May 7, 2010. In November of 2009, UW Trustees authorized a preliminary design study for the Indoor Tennis Facility. The project was part of the UW Capital Facilities Plan since 2006. The anticipated cost of the facility is $2.75 million. It was built by Sampson Construction.
The 2011-12 membership fees are $150 for an adult individual, $100 for a junior individual (18 and younger) and a family membership is $325. The family memberships include a maximum of 2 adults and 4 dependent children (18 and under). Members may reserve a court time by calling (307) 766-6993 and speaking with a UW tennis facility staff member. Reservations are accepted a maximum of 7 days prior to the reservation request. The hours of the courts will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., with several holiday closures throughout the season.
Another change now that the new addition is completed, the facility will be utilizing the UW WyoOne card for proof of membership and court rental fee payments. Users will need to purchase their Indoor Tennis Facility membership through the WyoOne ID office located in Knight Hall, Room 28, phone 766-5268 or 5267. Court rental fees must be paid with Campus Dollars, the campus debit account is accessed with your WyoOne ID card. Deposits onto your Campus Dollars account can be made through a number of convenient methods: online at www.uwyo.edu/idoffice, the WyoOne ID Office in Knight Hall, the Cashier's Office, or one of the cash deposit machines throughout campus. As an added benefit, the monies you deposit in Campus Dollars are usable all over campus in addition to using them for court rental fee payment (this will replace the antiquated punch cards used in previous years).
If you do not have a WyoOne card, they can be purchased at the WyoOne ID Office when you purchase your membership. Pricing for the first WyoOne cards are:
UW Students Free
