University of Wyoming head tennis coach Kristen Hall today announced the signing Virginia Iwinski to a national letter of intent to attend UW beginning in the fall of 2008.

Virginia Iwinski, Marietta, Ga. (Lassiter HS):
A two-year letterwinner while attending Lassiter High School in Marietta, Ga. She has played in several juniors tournaments this year and currently has a 35-32 record so far in singles play. Just recently, she went 5-2 at the Fall Southern Close Championships. She is a player that has been consistently ranked in the Top 100 nationally by tennisrecruiting.net. Iwinski selected Wyoming over several schools. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society while being awarded numerous other awards. She is the daughter of Steve and Joyce Iwinski. Has two sisters, Seva, who was a four year letterwinner at Texas A&M, and Kyla, who is currently in her third season at the University of Denver.
"We are very excited that Virginia will be joining the Cowgirl family," said Hall. "She is an extremely talented tennis player and will make an immediate impact in both our singles and doubles line-ups. Virginia embodies all of our characteristics we look for in a student-athlete at Wyoming."
