Despite outhitting the Paladins .201 to .149 and doubling them in blocks ten tofive, the Cowgirls couldn't overcome some mistakes.
"This is a case of not setting priorities and preparing ourselves for amatch," stated head coach Susan Steadman. "We had the talent to win thismatch, but we still are inconsistent and haven't developed a chemistrybetween each other to what the other individuals are going to do. Ourpassing was very sporadic, and we certainly didn't come out with theintensity we had last night and that was a big key for the whole match."
"I thought Vanessa Latimer came in and played well defensively, andreally had a passing rhythm going. Offensively, Michele Rauter andRachel Lau had some good swings at the ball. Unfortunatley, our blockingwas passive and defensive followed behind it, and we didn't put togethera very good match."
Wyoming will host the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic next weekend, welcomingWake Forest, Idaho State, UT-Arlington, and Oklahoma. The action willstart on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m., and the Cowgirls opening upagainst the Mavericks of UT-Arlington at noon.
