For the second time in one day, the Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team (0-8 overall) lost a five set match (14-25, 14-29, 28-26, 25-14, 17-19), this time against the UAB Blazers (5-2 overall) in their second match of the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic.

"I think we came out real slow to begin the match," said UW head coach Carrie Yerty. "I'm not sure if that was because we were satisfied with how we played against Kansas earlier in the day or thought we would play at that same level. It took us to game three to get jump started and then the players showed a tremendous amount of heart to comeback and win those games. In game five, we had opportunities to win and at critical times we made key errors that we could control. The players understand what they need to do."

Four Cowgirls finished the match in double figures led by sophomore Lauren Whitney. She finished with a career high 20 kills and a .366 (20-5-41) hitting percentage. Jenna Arneson added 13, JennaRae Jester had 12 and Dani Bedore had ten. Carissa Lee led the way with 19 digs.

UAB was led by Ivana Bozic with 15 kills and nine digs, while Casey Dent added 13 kills. The Blazer out blocked the Cowgirls 11-8 in the match.
