Ogden, Utah - The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team (18-5 overall, 3-4 MWC) won a thrilling five game non-conference match against the Weber State Wildcats (13-8 overall, 4-3 Big Sky), on Monday night in Ogden. The game scores were 25-30, 36-34, 15-30, 30-27, 16-14.

The match went back and forth during the first four games and was very evenly matched. It was a match of which team had the better hitting percentage would win the game. The Wildcats would take the first game 30-25 and the third game 30-15, but the Cowgirls tied it up with a 36-34 and 30-27 wins in the second and fourth game.

In the final game with the Cowgirls down 14-13, Weber State would make a service error which allowed the Cowgirls to tie the game at 14 all. They would go on to score the next two points off two Wildcat hittingerrors to not only win the game 16-14, but the match 3-2.

Wyoming was led by outside hitter Michele Rauter, who finished with a career high 28 kills, while adding 14 digs, two service aces and hitting .415 (28-6-53) for the night. Sophomore outside hitter Sara Maytorena, who is coming off a Player of the Week award, topped off her night with a career high 26 kills, along with nine digs, four blocks and a .327 (26-9-52). The Cowgirls hit .224 (82-36-205) and finished with 76 assists and seven total blocks on the night.

The Cowgirls will now host conference rival Colorado State, on Friday night, at 7:00 p.m. The match will be played in the Arena Auditorium.
