LARAMIE, Wyo. -Chad Callihan and the Cowgirl volleyball program. Callihan also released dates for the Wyoming volleyball coaches clinic.
Callihan's first-ever coaching clinic will take place March 28-29 in the UniWyo Sports Complex and AmericInn Lodge and Suites. The clinic will include presentations and educational sessions from multiple college coaches and on-court demonstrations and walk through from the entire Wyoming Staff.
The first day of the clinic will be classroom oriented and held in the AmericInn Lodge & Suites.The second day will include more on-court demonstrations and drill simulation. The sessions will run alongside live competition between five different college programs in the UniWyo Sports Complex.
The Cowgirls will host three positional camps in the month of July with dates on the 6th, 9th and 13th. This Positional Camp is designed and intended as a position-specific warm-up to the Skills Camp starting on July 7. These camps are open to residents and commuters at a cost of $110 for residents and $75 for commuters.
UW will also host a skills camp July 7-9. The Skills Camp is designed and intended for the developing athlete who may or may not be new to volleyball. The instruction and drills for this camp are designed for the beginner to intermediate camper looking for a challenging, competitive, and fun camp experience. The camp staff will keep a close eye on your development to make sure that you are assigned to the appropriate training group for the duration of the camp. This camp is open to residents and commuters at a cost of $325 for residents and $250 for commuters.
An elite skills camp is also offered July 10-12. The Elite Skills Camp is recommended for the volleyball player who is looking to improve their technique and overall skills necessary for playing volleyball at a higher level. This camp will involve more advanced skill instruction in addition to surrounding each player with upper-level talent. Each camper will hone their techniques in a variety of fast-paced drills and games that are designed to be competitive and fun. There will be opportunities for match play throughout the camp so the campers can put their skills to the test. This camp is open to residents and commuters at a cost of $350 for residents and $275 for commuters.
Wyoming will also host a team training camp July 14-16. This camp is a great opportunity for middle and high school teams looking for the ultimate camp experience. In addition to a camp-wide tournament and various competitions, each team will receive group training to improve its offensive and defensive systems. Team-bonding activities, training, drills and competition make this camp the ultimate experience to prep for your season. Varsity and JV divisions will be available.
