March 2, 2006

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Third year head coach Pat Stangle and the University of Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team started their regular team spring practice today in Laramie.

Stangle welcomes back five starters and nine letterwinners to a team that finished 12-16 overall and 7-9 in the Mountain West Conference in 2005.

Practices will run Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-8:00 a.m. All practices are open.

The Cowgirls will also have three opportunities to participate in spring tournaments over the next month across the front range.

"We've made great strides in our individuals work outs especially in the area of strength and conditioning," said head coach Pat Stangle. "I think every one is excited to get back in the gym and start working on the team aspect of volleyball."
