LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming volleyball spring schedule is set for 2016 as the Cowgirls will compete four times in the month of April, in addition to hosting a spring tournament. Matches for the tournament will be in the Arena-Auditorium and the UniWyo Sports Complex.
The Brown and Gold will open the spring against Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne on April 1, at 5 p.m. MT, before hosting Colorado State and Colorado on April 9. The match against the Rams will begin at 9:30 a.m., while competition against Colorado will follow at 12:30 p.m. The Cowgirls will then travel to Denver for a matchup with the Pioneers on April 16, which is set to begin at 1 p.m.
Wyoming will be hosting a nine-team spring tournament on April 23. The matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., in both the Arena-Auditorium and the UniWyo Sports Complex. Visiting teams will include Adams State, Casper College, Colorado Christian, CU-Colorado Springs, Eastern Wyoming, Metro State, Sheridan College and Western Nebraska Community College.
The Cowgirls finished the 2015 campaign with a 23-7 record and a 13-5 mark in conference. UW’s winning percentage (.767) was second best in Wyoming history, behind the 1989 season (24-7, .774), as the 13 conference wins were a program best.
April 1st - at LCCC in Cheyenne (5 p.m.)
April 9th – vs. CSU (9:30am) and CU (12:30pm)
April 16th - at DU in Denver (1 p.m.)
April 23rd - hosting spring tournament. Matches will be in the UniWyo and AA.
