Wyoming Volleyball Set for First Spring Tourney

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team will play in their first spring tournament on Saturday, April 6, at the University of Northern Colorado. The matches are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Butler Hancock Sports Complex in Greeley. Besides the Cowgirls, Air Force, Alaska Anchorage, Colorado College, UCCS, Colorado State, Denver, Nebraska-Kearney, LCCC, Metro State, Northeast JC, Northern Colorado, Regis, Snow College, Western State, Western Nebraska CC will also participate.

The tournament format is set with three pools with four teams and one with five. Each team in A, B and C pool will play two sets with scoring to 25 and a cap to 27, while Pool D will be playing two sets to 15 points and a cap at 17. The Wyoming team, who will be playing in Pool D, is scheduled to face Northeast Junior College at 9:30 a.m., Western State at 10:15 a.m., Nebraska Kearney at 11:45 a.m. and Regis at 12:30 p.m. A playoff schedule, which will be the best two out of three sets and determined by seeding, will begin at 2:00 p.m.

The Cowgirls will continue their spring workouts over the next several weeks and compete in two more tournaments. They are at the CSU Tournament on Saturday, April 13, before wrapping things up on Saturday, April 20, at the UNK Tournament.
