LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The Cowgirl Volleyball Team continued their spring drills with play in their second tournament at the University of Colorado, on Saturday, in Boulder, Colo.
Wyoming went 3-1 against their competition, as they opened up the day with victories against the CU Alumni and Metro State. They fell short in two games against Colorado, but rebounded with a 2-1 win against Metro State to close out play.
"We have greatly improved over last week both offensively and defensively," said head coach Jim Barnes. "The team is developing a more aggressive attitude each time we play and if we can continue that we will be very tough next season. Jill Roslund and Leah Powers continue to show great improvement over the spring, and they along with Sara Maytorena have led the team offensively. Sara led the team in kills and is playing consistent volleyball, while Amy Doman played very well throughout the tournament leading the team in assists and aces. Overall, I was very pleased with each individuals play."
The team will continue their spring practices over the next couple of weeks with only two tournaments left at Colorado State, on April 12 and then they will host a spring tournament on April 26.
