April 12, 2006

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team fared extremely well over the weekend as they participated in their first tournament of the spring in Denver, Colo.

The Cowgirls went 4-0 against their competition. In a round robin format, they defeated Denver, Mesa State, Montana State and Northern Colorado. Overall, head volleyball coach Pat Stangle was extremely pleased.

"More importantly I was pleased with our standard of play as we played every game at a very high level," said Stangle. "Everything we've been working on in practice really showed out of the court.

"The team feels very good about their performance which will help for the final two weeks of spring practice."

The team will continue their spring practices over the next couple of weeks with one final tournament at the University of Washington, which will run from April 20-22.
