Cowgirl Volleyball Program Adds Another Student-Athlete

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head volleyballcoach Susan Judge announced the signing of one student-athlete to anational letter of intent to attend the University of Wyoming in thefall of 2000. Here is the signee:

Katy Brown, 5-10, Setter, West Covina, Calif.: A three-time letterwinnerin volleyball at South Hills High School in West Covina, Calif. As asenior, she helped lead her team to the state finals for the first timein school history, plus three undefeated Valle Vista conferencechampionships. She earned First Team All-Region and All-State honors inthat same season, and as team captain was the team and conference MostValuable Player. She was coached in high school by Charm Doyle. Brownwas also a two-year letterwinner in basketball. An excellent student,she is a member of the National Honor Society and was very active instudent council. Katy is the daughter of Steve and Andrea Brown. She wasrecruited by other schools including Rutgers, Cal-Poly and theUniversity of Alaska.

"We are excited to add another player in the setter position to ourroster," Head Volleyball Coach Susan Judge said. "Katy is a very selfmotivated and energetic athlete. She has a never say die attitude, whichis essential for athletes to compete at this level. She also has astrong high school and club background, which should lend itself well inher fitting in at Wyoming."

Brown is the fourth student-athlete to sign a letter of intent with theCowgirls this season. The other signees include Melissa Robinett (6-3,El Paso, Texas), Lori Sanford (6-4, Chadron, Neb.), and Stefanie Snyder(5-9, Alexandria, Minn.).
