Karyn DenBoer Inks With Cowgirl Volleyball

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head volleyball coach Pat Stangle, Friday, announced the signing of one student-athlete to attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2006.

Here is the signee:

Karyn DenBoer, 6-2, Middle Blocker, Loveland, Colo. (Mountain View HS):

A two-time First Team All-Area, All-Conference and All-Tournament Team selection while attending Mountain View High School. Over the past three years, she helped her team to back to back State Championships in 2003 and 2004, along with the runner-up spot in 2005. As a team captain her senior year, she was named the Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-State and participated in the All-State Games. During her sophomore and junior years, she also earned Second Team All-State and Honorable Mention All-State honors, along with being named Second Team All-Conference. She was coached in high school by Lindsey Stinson. DenBoer plays for the Norco Club Volleyball team which is coached by Moritz Moritz. One of two children of Dennis and Joan DenBoer. She has a sister Kristen who plays at Seton Hall.

"Karyn adds a lot to this team," said head coach Pat Stangle. "She has the size and tools to become a very good collegiate volleyball player."

Denboer is the fifth student-athlete to sign with the Cowgirls this year. The other signees include Nicki Kent (6-1, MB, Vancouver, Wash.), Micah Lines (5-10, OH, Centerville, Utah), Annie Meyers (5-11, OH, Oceanside, Calif.) and Jess Srajer (6-3, OH, Vancouver, Wash.).
