The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Teamfared well over the weekend, as they played three matches in ColoradoSprings, Colo.
The Cowgirls went 1-2 against their competition, which included avictory over the Air Force Academy Falcons. In a modified three gameformat, they defeated Air Force (30-26, 30-27), but fell to ColoradoState (26-30, 30-24, 12-15) and Regis (27-30, 30-20, 14-16). Despitelosing two out of three matches, head coach Jim Barnes was quite pleasedwith the play of his team.
"We really played with a lot more intensity this weekend than I haveseen in previous weeks," said Barnes. "Even though, we didn't beatColorado State I feel we're making some strides on them. Overall, Ithink the weekend was a big step forward for us, and our teamwork andlevel of play continues to improve."
The team will wrap up their spring practices this week and close it outwith tournament at CSU, in Ft. Collins, Colo., on Saturday April 27.
