First year head coach Chad Callihan and the Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team will conclude preseason drills with the Brown and Gold scrimmage, on Friday, August 23.

The match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex. It is open to the public. The Cowgirls have been conducting practices alternating between one or two a day over the past two weeks.

Callihan welcomes back four starters and eight letterwinners to this year's squad that finished 21-11 overall and 8-8 in the Mountain West a year ago. Two of those returning players received 2012 All-Mountain West honors, Erin Kirby and Becky Stewart. In all, the squad consists of four seniors, two juniors, three sophomores, two redshirt freshmen and five true freshmen.

The Cowgirls will open non-conference play next weekend at home. They will host the UniWyo Wyoming Invite, Fri.-Sat., August 30-31, with competition against Drake, Idaho, Montana State and Stetson. That will be followed by the month of September on the road before returning to the UniWyo Sports Complex until Tuesday, Oct. 1.
