The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team will return to Laramie for their first home Mountain West Conference matches this week. They will host the TCU Horned Frogs, on Thursday, Sept. 24, and the New Mexico Lobos, on Saturday, Sept. 26. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex.

Wyoming enters the week with an 8-6 record overall and 0-1 in the MWC. The Cowgirls are currently led by freshman outside hitter Jodi Purdy who is averaging 3.53 kills and 2.47 digs per set. She is followed by Dani Bedore and Lauren Whitney. Bedore is averaging 2.29 kills and 1.75 digs, while Whitney is adding 2.19 kills.
The Frogs are currently 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the MWC. They are led by Kourtney Edwards who is averaging 3.37 kills and 1.09 blocks per set. TCU returns four starters and 11 letterwinners to a team that went 20-12 overall and 9-7 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 14th meeting between the two teams. Wyoming leads the series 8-5. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 6, 2008 when the Frogs defeated the Cowgirls 3-0 in Ft. Worth. TCU is coached by Prentice Lewis who is in her eighth season with the program.
The Lobos are 8-4 overall, 0-1 in the MWC and will play Colorado State on Thursday before facing the Cowgirls. They are led by Lisa Meeter who is averaging 2.52 kills and 2.40 digs per set. New Mexico returns four starters and ten letterwinners to a team that went 22-7 overall and 11-5 in the MWC a year ago. This is 61st meeting between the two teams. Wyoming leads the series 34-26. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 8, 2008 as UNM defeated the Cowgirls 3-2 in Albuquerque. The Lobos are coached by Jeff Nelson who is in his third season with the program.
