Wyoming Volleyball To Play CSU in Fort Collins This Friday

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming volleyball team will only play one match this week as they travel down to Fort Collins to take on the Colorado State Rams, on Friday, September 26. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. Live stats of the match can be followed on this site.

Wyoming enters the week with a 2-9 (.192) record overall and a 1-1 mark in Mountain West Conference play after splitting with BYU and Utah last week. The Cowgirls are currently led by outside hitter Dani Bedore who is averaging 3.02 kills, which is tenth in the MWC, and 1.59 digs per set. She is followed Lauren Whitney who is adding 2.71 kills and almost one dig per set. As a team, they are averaging 12.10 kills and 12.39 digs per set.

The Rams are 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the MWC, while being ranked 13th in the AVCA Coaches Poll. They are led by Jaime Strauss who is averaging 3.28 kills and 1.74 digs per game. She is followed by Mekana Barnes who is adding 3.08 kills and 1.48 blocks per game. CSU returns five starters and ten letterwinners on a team that went 23-8 overall and 13-3 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 64th meeting between the two teams. CSU leads the series 45-18. The last time the two teams met was November 7, 2007 as the Rams defeated the Cowgirls 3-0 in Ft. Collins. CSU is coached by Tom HIlbert who is in his 12th season with the program.
