Cowgirl Volleyball Opens Up Conference Play At Home

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Head Coach Jim Barnes and the WyomingCowgirl Volleyball Team(14-2 overall, 0-1 MWC) will open up conference play at home thisweekend as they host conference rivals UNLV on Fri., Oct. 4 and the SanDiego State Aztecs on Sat, Oct. 5. Both matches will start at 7:00 p.m.in the MPG.

The Rebels are currently 4-11 overall and 0-2 in conference playheading into this week's competition. They return all six starters andten letterwinners to a squad that went 10-16 overall and 6-8 in theMountain West Conference a year ago. This will be the 13th meetingbetween the two teams, Wyoming leads 7-5. The last time the two teamsmet was Oct. 27, 2002, as the Rebels defeated the Cowgirls 3-2.

The Aztecs are currently 11-7 overall and 2-0 in the MWC this season.They return five starters and eight letterwinners, after going 16-13overall and 9-5 in the Mountain West Conference. This is the 23rdmeeting between the two teams, San Diego State leads the series 20-2.The last time the two teams met was Oct. 26, 2001, SDSU defeated theCowgirls 3-1.

Admission for Wyoming volleyball games are $4.00 for adults, $2.00 forstudents 17-13 or free for children under 12 and UW students with a valid ID.Also, a season pass will be available at a cost of $24.00. ForSaturday's game against San Diego State, individuals who show a Citadelfootball ticket stub will be admitted free.
