The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team will be home for two matches this week beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 9 as they host the Northern Colorado Bears. In their second straight regional match-up UW will host the Colorado State Rams, on Saturday, Oct. 13. Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex. Starting with these two contests, Wyoming's next four matches will be in Laramie.

Wyoming enters the week with a 7-8 (.467) overall record and a 2-5 mark in Mountain West Conference play. The Cowgirls are currently led by outside hitter Rachel Smith, who is averaging 4.50 kills, which is second in the MWC, and 2.55 digs per game. She is followed closely by senior Angie Hellbaum who is averaging 4.18 kills and 2.37 digs, while leading way with the .258 (251-90-624) hitting percentage. As a team, UW is averaging 15.23 kills, 15.32 digs and has a .218 (914-387-2416) hitting percentage.
The Bears are currently 5-14 overall and 3-4 in the Big Sky Conference. They are led by Kenzie Shreeve who is averaging three kills and .54 blocks. She is followed by Dulcie Stone who is adding 2.97 kills and 3.04 digs per game, while Abby Mayne is averaging 4.17 digs per game. UNC returns three starters and nine letterwinners who went 13-15 overall and 7-9 in the Big Sky. This is the 16th meeting ever between the two schools. UNC leads the series 9-6. The last time the two teams met was October 18, 2006 as the Bears defeated the Cowgirls 3-0. Northern Colorado is coached by Lyndsey Benson who is in her third season with the program.
The Rams are 11-4 overall, 5-1 in the MWC and will play Air Force before facing the Cowgirls. They are led by Jaime Strauss who is averaging 4.18 kills and 2.33 digs per game. She is followed by Mekana Barnes who is adding 3.98 kills and 1.77 blocks per game. CSU returns five starters and seven letterwinners to a team that went 20-10 overall and 11-5 in the MWC a year ago. This is the 62nd meeting ever between the two schools. Colorado State leads the series 43-18. The last time the two teams met was October 26, 2006 as the Rams defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0. Colorado State is coached by Tom Hilbert who is in his 11th season with the program.
