The Wyoming volleyball team will resume Mountain West Conference play this weekend as they host the Colorado State Rams, on Friday night at 7:00 p.m., in Laramie.
With victories over San Diego State, UNLV over the weekend and a non-conference win over Creighton on Monday, the Cowgirls come into the weekend with a 13-6 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the conference. As a team, they are out hitting opponents .237 to .189 and currently lead the conference in digs with 14.43 games per game.
The Rams enter this week's match with a mark of 13-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Mountain West Conference, and also rank 22nd in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll. Colorado State is currently hitting .252 per match and averaging 2.78 blocks per contest. They are led by middle blocker Katie Jo Shirley, who is averaging 3.55 kills and 2.25 digs per game
This will be the 54th meeting between the two schools as CSU leads the series 35-18. The last time the two teams met was Oct. 25, 2002 with the Rams coming out on top with a 3-1 victory in Fort Collins.
Ticket prices for this weekend's match are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children or students without a student ID. All Wyoming students will be allowed free admission with their Wyoming student ID. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for students and 6:00 p.m. for the general public. There will be free pizza and drinks for all UW, Wyo Tech and high schools students with a school ID. from 5:15-5:45 p.m.
