Wyoming Volleyball's Jodi Purdy Earns MW Co-Player of the Week Honors

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming outside hitter Jodi Purdy has been named Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Oct. 3-9. It marks the second time in her career that she has earned the honor. She earned the award with San Diego State outside hitter Raegan Shelton.

Purdy, a 5-11 junior from Winterset, Iowa, led the Cowgirls to a 2-0 record last week, including a come-from-behind 3-2 win over No. 23 Colorado State. Earlier in the week, Purdy recorded 15 kills and 18 digs in a 3-1 win at Northern Colorado. Against Colorado State on Saturday in Laramie, Purdy recorded 16 kills and a career-high 21 digs as the Cowgirls beat CSU for the first time since 1997. Purdy also recorded her 1,000th career kill in the match.

For the week, Purdy averaged 3.44 kills, 1.22 blocks and 4.33 digs per set, while hitting .220. She averaged 4.28 points per set over nine total sets.
