The Wyoming volleyball team will be at home this weekend as they continue Mountain West Conference play. They welcome the BYU Cougars, on Friday night, and the Utah Utes, on Saturday night. Both matches are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Wyoming comes into this weekend's matches with a 9-8 overall mark and a 2-3 record in the conference. As a team, they are out-hitting opponents .264 to .235, which is third in the Mountain West Conference.
The Cougars enter the week with a record of 10-6 overall and 4-1 in the MWC. BYU is led by Kim Wilson who is averaging 3.57 kills, along with two digs. As a team, they are hitting .283 (953-341-2162) and averaging 3.30 blocks per game.
This will be the 54th meeting between the two schools as the Cougars lead the series 50-3. The last time the two teams met was Oct. 24, 2003 in Laramie when BYU defeated the Cowgirls, 3-1.
The Utes are 13-2 overall and 5-0 in the MWC entering this week's match and will face Colorado State on Friday night. They also rank 18th in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll. Utah is currently hitting .228 (845-349-2172) per match and averaging 3.28 blocks per game. They are led by Lyndsey Henderson, who is averaging 3.49 kills and 1.77 blocks per game.
