The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team will be returning home this weekend for a couple of matches in the Mountain West Conference. They will host the Utah Utes, on Thursday, Oct. 15, and the BYU Cougars, on Saturday, Oct. 17. Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m.

Wyoming enters the week with a 10-10 record overall and 1-5 in the MWC. The Cowgirls are currently led by freshman outside hitter Jodi Purdy who is averaging 3.51 kills and 2.46 digs per set. She is followed by Dani Bedore and Lauren Whitney. Bedore is averaging 2.38 kills and 1.76 digs, while Whitney is adding 2.35 kills. As a team, the Cowgirls are hitting .201 (948-430-2572) and averaging 12.31 kills and 13.04 digs per set.
Utah is currently 12-6 overall and 5-1 in the MWC. The Utes are led by Karolina Bartkowiak who is averaging 3.03 kills and 2.50 digs per set. Utah returns three starters and ten letterwinners to a team that went 26-6 overall and 14-2 in the MWC a year ago. This is 65th meeting between the two teams. Utah leads the series 40-24. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 20, 2008 as the Utes defeated the Cowgirls 3-0 in Salt Lake City. Utah is coached by Beth Launiere who is in her 20th season with the program.
The Cougars are currently 9-8 overall, 4-2 in MWC play and will face the Colorado State Rams before playing the Cowgirls. BYU is by Kayla Walker who is averaging 4.16 kills and almost one block per set. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 14-12 overall and 7-9 in the MWC a year ago. This is 64th meeting between the two teams. BYU leads the series 59-4. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 22, 2008 as Cougars defeated the Cowgirls 3-0 in Provo. BYU is coached by Shay Goulding who is in her second year with the program.
