The Wyoming volleyball team will head back out on the road this week for a couple of matches. They will open up against the San Diego State Aztecs, on Thursday, Oct. 16, in San Diego and the UNLV Rebels, on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The San Diego State match is set to begin at 8 p.m. MT, while the UNLV match will begin at 2 p.m. MT.

Wyoming enters the week with a 3-12 (.200) record overall and a 2-4 mark in Mountain West Conference play after two losses last weekend against New Mexico and TCU. The Cowgirls are currently led by outside hitter Dani Bedore who is averaging 3.11 kills, which is sixth in the MWC, and 1.64 digs per set. She is followed Lauren Whitney who is adding 2.77 kills and almost one dig per set. As a team, they are averaging 11.89 kills and 12.07 digs per set.
The Aztecs are 5-11 overall and 2-4 in MWC play this season. They are led by Lauren Salisbury who is averaging 3.12 kills and 1.05 blocks per set, while Stephanie Darnall is adding 2.45 kills and 1.65 digs per set. San Diego State returns four starters and eight letterwinners that went 13-16 overall and 4-12 in the in the MWC a year ago. This is the 35th meeting between the two teams. SDSU leads the series 26-8. The last time the two teams met was November 1, 2007 as the Cowgirls defeated the Aztecs, 3-0, in Laramie. San Diego State is coached by Mark Warner who is in his 14th season with the program.
In their second match of the weekend, the Cowgirls will face the UNLV Rebels who are 11-8 overall, 4-2 in MWC play and will take on the Colorado State Rams before taking on the Cowgirls. They are led by Jessica Walters, who is averaging 3.48 kills and .89 digs per set, while Erin Greenwood is adding 2.43 kills and .62 blocks per set. UNLV returns three starters and ten letterwinners that went 24-6 overall and 12-4 in the in the MWC a year ago. This is the 28th meeting between the two teams. UNLV leads the series 16-11. The last time the two teams met was November 22, 2007 as the Rebels defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0, in Las Vegas. UNLV is coached by Allison Keeley who is in her fifth season with the program.
