The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball team will be home for their next two matches beginning on Thursday, Oct. 18 when they host the New Mexico Lobos. They will also host the TCU Horned Frogs, on Friday, Oct. 19. Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex.

Wyoming enters the week with a 8-9 (.471) record and a 2-6 mark in Mountain West Conference play. The Cowgirls are currently led by outside hitter Rachel Smith, who is averaging 4.47 kills, which is third in the MWC, and 2.47 digs per game. She is followed closely by senior Angie Hellbaum who is averaging 4.12 kills and 2.41 digs, while leading the team with a .254 (272-99-682) hitting percentage. As a team, UW is averaging 15.15 kills, 15.29 digs and has a .213 (1000-433-2657) hitting percentage.
The Lobos are currently 14-6 overall and 5-3 in the MWC. They are led by Jeanne Fairchild who is averaging 4.83 kills and 1.06 digs per game. She is followed by Lisa Meeter who is adding 3.18 kills and Gayle Tripp who is averaging 4.39 digs per game. UNM returns five starters and ten letterwinners to a squad that went 10-20 overall and 5-11 in the MWC last year. This is the 58th meeting ever between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 33-24. The last time the two teams met was September 21, 2007 as the Lobos defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0, in Albuquerque. New Mexico is coached by Jeff Nelson who is in his first season with the program and his 13th as a head coach.
The Frogs are currently 17-7 overall, 4-4 in the MWC and will play Air Force before facing the Cowgirls. They are led by Kourtney Edwards who is averaging 3.42 kills, 1.20 blocks and hitting .362. She is followed by Lauren Otto and LeMeita Smith who are adding 3.11 and 3.14 kills per game. TCU returns four starters and nine letterwinners to a squad that went 17-15 overall and 5-11 in the MWC last year. This is the 11th meeting ever between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 7-3. The last time the two teams met was Sept. 20, 2007 as the Frogs defeated the Cowgirls 3-1 in Ft. Worth. TCU is coached by Prentice Lewis who is in her sixth season with the program.
