Wyoming volleyball's junior middle blocker Reese Plante earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors, announced Monday by the conference. The weekly conference honor is the first of her career.
Plante helped the Cowgirls record their first back-to-back victories in conference play this season with a three-set sweep of Air Force and a four-set victory over Boise State last week. On Thursday against Air Force, Plante recorded eight kills and no errors while hitting a season-high .727 and tallying four block assists. Against Boise State, Plante recorded her fourth double-figure kill match of the season with 10. For the second-consecutive match she recorded no attack errors on 22 total attempts. For the match she hit .455 while adding five block assists and one service ace. On the weekend, Plante racked up 18 kills with no errors on 33 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .545. In the two matches, Plante averaged 2.57 kills and 1.28 blocks per set. She also averaged 3.36 points per set over the seven total sets played.
