The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team will be at home for one match this week as they host the Air Force Academy Falcons, on Thursday, Oct. 30. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m., and can be seen on The Mtn. Sports Network (channel 412 in Laramie).
Wyoming enters the week with a 3-15 (.167) record overall and a 2-7 mark in Mountain West Conference play after suffering a three-set loss against the CSU Rams last Friday night. The Cowgirls are currently led by outside hitter Dani Bedore who is averaging 3.02 kills, which is ninth in the MWC, and 1.57 digs per set. She is followed Lauren Whitney who is adding 2.79 kills and almost one dig per set. As a team, they are averaging 11.84 kills and 11.61 digs per set.
The Falcons enter the week with a 5-18 overall record and 0-10 in MWC play this season. They are led by Jasamine Pettie, who is averaging 2.34 kills per set and has 33 total blocks, while Nichole Stilwell is adding 2.10 kills and 40 total blocks. Air Force returns five starters and 16 letterwinners that went 7-24 overall and 0-16 in the in the MWC a year ago. This is the 28th meeting between the two teams. Wyoming leads the series 22-5. The last time the two teams met was October 4, 2008 as the Cowgirls defeated the Falcons, 3-1, in Colorado Springs. Air Force is coached by Penny Lucas White who is in her 13th season with the program.
