Continuing a four-match homestand, the University of Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team will host two Mountain West matches on Thursday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 10. The Cowgirls will host Fresno State (16-9 overall, 7-4 MW) on Thursday at 7 p.m., and UNLV (16-8 overall, 8-3 MW) on Saturday at 6 p.m. Wyoming enters the weekend with a 17-10 overall record and 4-7 mark in the conference.

The Cowgirls return to the court after a 1-1 week defeating Regis, 3-1, on Monday, Oct. 29 and falling to Colorado State, 3-0, on Friday, Nov. 2. Against Colorado State, senior outside hitter Jodi Purdy recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 digs. During that match, Purdy set the MW career record for double-doubles with 58, passing BYU's Chelsea Goodman's 57. In the conference, Purdy is currently ranked second in points per set averaging 4.20, while also adding 3.42 kills per set which is fifth-best in the MW. Cowgirl middle blocker Erin Kirby currently leads the MW in blocking averaging 1.65 per set which is also the fifth-best mark in the country. Also leading the conference individually is junior libero Becky Stewart who is averaging 4.70 digs per set. As a team, the Cowgirls are second in the country in blocking averaging 3.19 blocks per set, which also leads the conference. They also lead the MW in opponent hitting percentage allowing .143 (1213-692-3648).

A look at the Bulldogs: Fresno State enters Thursday's match with a 16-9 overall record and a 7-4 record in league matches. The Bulldogs are 7-2 in their last nine matches. Leading Fresno State is Marissa Brand who is averaging 3.46 kills per set, while also averaging 2.84 digs per set. Korrin Wild is averaging 3.24 kills per set and 3.05 digs per set which are both second on the team. Leading the Bulldog offense, is Barbara Alcantara who averages 11.37 assists per set while also averaging 2.09 digs per set. Christinia Lee is first on the team in digs averaging 4.23. Leading the Bulldog blocking is Maci Murdock who is averaging 0.91 blocks per set. This will be the 20th meeting between the Cowgirls and the Bulldogs. The Cowgirls lead the all-time series 10-9. Fresno State won the last meeting 3-2 in Fresno on Oct. 13. The Bulldogs are coached by Lauren Netherby-Sewell who is in here fifth year at the helm of the Bulldogs program.

A look at the Rebels: UNLV has a 16-8 overall record on the season and an 8-3 mark in the MW. The Rebels are 7-3 in their last 10 matches including having won three of their last four matches. Leading the Rebels is Daryn Glenn who is averaging 2.99 kills per set as well as 2.62 digs per set. Kinsey Caldwell leads the Rebel offense averaging 10.45 assists per set while also adding 2.77 digs per set. Leading the Rebel defense is Allison Davies who averaging 3.99 digs per set. In blocking Madeline Westman leads the Rebels averaging 1.38 per set while adding 2.66 kills per set. Saturday's meeting between the Cowgirls and the Rebels will be the 37th all time. The Rebels lead the series 21-15 over the Cowgirls having won the last meeting 3-2 in Las Vegas on Oct. 11. The Rebels are coached by Cindy Fredrick who is in her second season at UNLV.
