Cowgirls Play Final Conference Matches On The Road: The Wyoming CowgirlVolleyball team play their final two regular season conference matchesthis weekend. They will see UNLV on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m., MST andSan Diego State on Saturday at 8:00 p.m., MST.

About UNLV: Wyoming will face the UNLV Rebels on Thursday night. TheRebels are currently 4-17 overall and 4-8 in the conference. LeianaOswald leads the way for UNLV, averaging 3.54 kills and 1.93 digs pergame. This is the tenth meeting between the two teams, Wyoming leadsthe series 6-3. The Rebels defeated the Cowgirls, 3-0, earlier thisseason in Laramie. The Rebels are coached by Deitre Collins, who is inher fifth season at UNLV.

About San Diego State: The Cowgirls will face the San Diego State Aztecsin their final match of the weekend. They are currently 16-11 overalland 8-4 in the conference. Senior outside hitter Monet Solberg leads theway for the Aztecs averaging 3.11 kills and 2.15 digs per game. This isthe 20th meeting between the two schools, San Diego State leads 17-2.They defeated the Cowgirls, 3-2, earlier in the season in Laramie. TheAztecs are coached by Mark Warner, who is in his sixth season at SanDiego State.

Friehauf Moves Into First Place In Career Blocks: Senior middle blockerMelody Friehauf continues her move into the Wyoming Top 10 in blocks andkills during the 2000 season. On Tuesday, Oct. 24 against DenverUniversity, Friehauf overtook first place in career blocks with a matchhigh 11 blocks. With 154 on the season, she currently has 601 in herillustrious career. She overtook Kristina Dzelme, who previously heldthe mark with 573. She has also moved into the top ten in kills atnumber three with 1,262 kills. Friehuaf, from Windsor, Colo., is athree-year starter and two-time All-Conference Player. She was named theMWC Player of the Week twice, and earned All-Tournament honors threetimes.
