Wyoming Volleyball's Bridget Shanahan Earns MW Player of the Week Honors

Wyoming outside hitter Bridget Shanahan has been named Mountain West Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played from Nov. 18-24. It marks the first time in her career that she has received the honor.

Shanahan, a 6-2 sophomore from Hartland, N.Y. led the Cowgirls to a 2-0 conference mark over the week to pull them even at 9-9 in the conference. They've now won five consecutive Mountain West matches, the most ever in MW history. She averaged 3.44 kills and 1.44 blocks per set over the two matches to go along with seven digs and a .348 attack percentage. At Fresno State (W, 3-1), recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 kills and a career-high 10 blocks. She also had two digs. In Saturday's 3-2 come-from-behind win over San Jose State, led the Cowgirls with a career-high 19 kills to go along with three blocks and five digs. She hit .457 in the match.

The Cowgirls will close out the season this week as they host two matches. They welcome the UNLV Rebels, on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and the San Diego State Aztecs, on Friday, Nov. 29. Both matches are set for 7:00 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex.
