Cowgirl Volleyball Announces Signing of One Student-Athlete

Laramie, Wyo. - University of Wyoming head volleyball coach Jim Barnes, today, announced the signing of one student-athlete to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2003.

Here is the signee:

Andrea Seele, 6-1, Outside Hitter, Johnstown, Colo. (Roosevelt HS): Named First Team Division 3Aand to the Colorado All-State Team at Roosevelt High School in Johnstown, Colo. For the season, she tallied 415 kills, 191 digs and 224 total blocks. As a senior, Seele also helped her team to the semi-finals of the Colorado State Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team. During her junior year, she earned All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors, while being named to the All-Weld Team by theGreeley Tribune and the All-Area Team by the Loveland Reporter Herald. Andrea was coached in high school by Robin Wells. Also lettered in basketball and earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

She currently plays club with the Norco 18 Black Volleyball Club, which placed third atthe club level at the 2002 Junior Olympic National Tournament. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society, along with several clubs and organizations. Seele chose Wyoming over several schools. She is daughter of Kent and Diana Seele.

"We very fortunate to have signed Andrea to be a part ofthis program," said head coach Jim Barnes. "She's oneof the best players from the state of Colorado and was an All-Colorado selection. Her athleticism willhelp us toward our goal of building one of the top programsin the country."
