Purdy Earns Second-Consecutive AVCA All-Region Honor

After leaving her mark on Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball and the Mountain West Conference, senior outside hitter Jodi Purdy continues to earn honors after it was announced Tuesday she was selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-West Region postseason team. The selection is her second in as many seasons and second of her career.

"We are very proud of Jodi and all of her accomplishments," Wyoming Cowgirl head coach Carrie Yerty said. "We are very excited she is representing Wyoming on the All-Region team."

Purdy, a native of Winterset, Iowa, leaves the Cowgirls as the all-time leader in both kills (1,559) and digs (1,278) as well as second all-time in service aces (137). Purdy also leaves the Cowgirls No. 12 all-time with 321 total blocks. Purdy also ranks in the top 10 of four career categories in the MW. She finished second in career points (1,866.5), third in attacks (4,274), fourth in kills (1,559) and seventh in aces with 137. Purdy also leaves as the conference's career leader in double-doubles with 61. Recently, she also earned her third-consecutive All-MW honor.

On the season, Purdy played and started all 32 matches and 117 sets. She finished ranked in the top 10 overall in the MW in three individual categories. In kills, Purdy finished fifth averaging 3.44 per set, with a total of 402 on the season which tied for the 12th-best single season in Cowgirl history. In points per set, she finished third averaging 4.21 per set. She also finished third in aces per game averaging 0.28 per set with 33 total on the season.

In league matches, her numbers increased and she finished in the top 10 of five individual categories. She finished the conference season averaging 3.58 kills per set and 4.38 points per set, both of which ranked third. She finished No. 8 in service ace average with 0.23 per set as well as averaging 1.08 blocks per set which was ninth in league matches. She also recorded 3.02 digs per set which finished her 10th in the league.
