The University of Wyoming and New Mexico State University announced on Monday a future football home-and-home series to be played in 2018 and 2024.
Wyoming will travel to Las Cruces, N.M., on Aug. 25, 2018 to face the Aggies. New Mexico State will return to Laramie, Wyo., on Sept. 21, 2024 to play the Cowboys.
The Cowboys and Aggies have played only one other time in the two schools’ histories. That previous meeting was played in Laramie on Sept. 19, 1953, with the Cowboys winning by a score of 47-0.
New Mexico State, a current member of the Sun Belt Conference, will begin play as an FBS independent in 2018.
Wyoming’s other non-conference opponents in 2018 will include: a Sept. 1 game against Washington State in Laramie; a Sept. 8 road game at Missouri; and a Sept. 15 home game versus Wofford.
