Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball Adds One Student-Athlete

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 11, 2016) — Wyoming Cowgirl head basketball coach Joe Legerski today announced the signing of Sladjana Rakovic who will join the program beginning in the fall of 2017.  

“Sladjana brings a winning attitude and a wealth of experience to the Wyoming basketball program,”  Legerski said.  “She has a scorer’s mentality and a toughness to her game. Sladjana will join our program after completing two years at the highly successful Western Nebraska basketball program.”

Sladjana Rakovic (Slod john uh Raw coe vich), 6-0, Forward, Bijelo, Polje, Montenegro (Western Nebraska Community College):   Rakovic is a current member of the women’s basketball team at Western Nebraska CC in Scottsbluff, Neb. Last season, she started in all 29 games while averaging 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 20.8 minutes per game. Rakovic helped lead her team to a 25-4 mark overall and a 13-2 conference record a year ago. The team reached the semifinals of the Region IX tournament and she was named to the All-Region IX South Team. Currently coached by David Harnish. She was a member of the Montenegro National U18, U20 and Senior National Teams. Prior to that, she attended Prva Tehnicka Skola High School. Radovic is the daughter of Radoslav and Dragica Radovic. She has two siblings, Violeta and Kristina.
