Swimming and Diving Honored for Strong Season in the Classroom

Junior (2015-16): At the 2016 MW Championships, Duckworth finished 16th overall in the 400 IM with a time of 4:31.48 and the 1,650 free (17.26.11). She opened the season against New Mexico and took second place (2:12.83) in the 1,000 free and third (2:12.83) in the 200 IM, before a third-place (10:43.21) finish in the 1,000 and fifth place (5:16.94) in the 500 free against New Mexico. She took third in the 200 fly on senior night against Colorado State with a 2:11.85. She helped UW come away with it’s first-ever win over a Pac-12 opponent in Arizona State, as she took fourth (10:31.38) in the 1,000 free and fifth (2:11.76).

Sophomore (2014-15):
Duckworth impressed against Denver as she brought home a victory in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.94. Duckworth finished second in the 1,000 freestyle behind teammate Lauren McClure against CSU with a time of 10:40.84. In the dual with New Mexico State, she finished second behind teammate Emma Dow in the 400 IM with a final time of 4:43.15. At the MW Championships, Duckworth finished 16th in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 17:01.72, and 19th in the 400 IM with a mark of 4:29.74.

Freshman (2013-14): Duckworth saw action in eight meets for the Cowgirls in her first season with the program. She scored points for the Cowgirls in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 17:01.72 finishing 16th in the event. At the MW Championship she also competed in the 400 individual medley finishing 19th with a season-best time of 4:29.74. In the 500 freestyle at the MW Championship she finished 24th, in the preliminaries of the event she recorded a season-best time of 5:00.82.

High School: Duckworth was a four-year letterwinner at Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, Calif., and joins the Cowgirls to swim distance freestyle and individual medley. She was an All-American her freshman, sophomore and junior season. Duckworth was also a Junior National Qualifier all four years competing in the 500 freestyle. She helped set the school record in the 200 medley relay. During her senior season, Duckworth was recognized as a top-15 athlete at the Newport Harbor award banquet.

Personal: She was born December 1, 1994 in New York and is the daughter of Stuart Duckworth and Kara Greene. She plans to study criminal justice at UW. Duckworth was also recruited by Utah, San Jose State, Ohio, Denver, Oregon State and Cal State Bakersfield.
